OU Awards Doctorate To TRS MLA Gadari Kishore

Dr. Kishore Kumar Gadari (1996 batch), the youngest MLA of Telangana State Legislative Assembly, has been awarded the doctorate in Journalism & Mass Communication by Osmania University. He did his research on “Separate Statehood for Telangana: A Study on the Role of Media” under the supervision of Prof. Bandi Balaswamy, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Osmania University.
Earlier, the law maker completed the Master of Communication & Journalism (MCJ) course in 2006 and also cleared the prestigious UGC-NET in 2013. He was the recipient of the Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship.
Dr. Kishore Kumar played a key role in forming the Osmania University Students Joint Action Committee. Police foisted several cases against him for spearheading several protests during the Telangana agitation. He was elected to the State Assembly from Tungaturthy constituency in 2014 as a TRS candidate. Prof. Balaswamy said the doctoral work of Kishore reflected the stance of various media preceding the bifurcation of the united Andhra Pradesh.
