The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Gorityala Veera Mahendar as Member in Central Electricity Authority (CEA) on Thursday. Currently, he is serving as General Manager in REC Limited. He had joined REC Limited in December 2013.He is an alumnus of Sarvail from 1976 batch.
Mahendar is an engineering graduate (Mechanical Engineering) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance & Marketing Management from Osmania University. He also holds another master’s degree in Development Management from the Asian Institute of Management. He is a qualified Cost Accountant of the Indian Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWA). Prior to joining REC Limited, Mahendar has held as Counsellor in Gerson Lehrman Group, Additional General Manager of NTPC Limited, Joint Director (Tariff) in Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC).
